Why Do I Need A Remote Backup Service Plan?
Let’s face it, at some point your data will be at risk. The question is when not if. Hard drive failure, intrusion hacking, ransomware, natural disaster; are just a few things that can steal your business right out from under you.
When it comes down to it, machines and hardware fail, humans make mistakes, nature is unpredictable, and customers expect you to be up and running when it’s convenient for them. If your organization is facing infrastructure issues and cannot get up and running in a timely fashion, these anxious customers could jump ship to a competitor.
An important component of your business continuity or disaster recovery strategy is the capability to back up and store your critical data to a secure offsite location. If you’re not doing that, then your business is in a dangerous position. All businesses need a reliable backup service plan.

BACKUP & RECOVERY
Our Backup & Recovery Process
It’s not enough to just have one copy of your data. What would your company do if that single copy were to be compromised? BizTek Connection uses a 3 step data backup plan as one of the best strategies for backing up and recovering your data. This ensures that no matter what happens, you will have three copies of your data: two onsite (but on different storage media) and one offsite.
1
Primary Disk — The first step we would take would be in creating a primary backup copy that will be stored in your data center. This will enable quick recoveries.
2
Isolated Disk —Your second copy will be kept on different infrastructure such as disk media. A second backup will help you to avoid a total loss blow if the initial backup doesn’t work.
3
Off-Site — The third copy will be stored in an off-site location. The securest location would either be on a cloud-based environment or on our servers to protect data against cyber hacking or ransomware.
Did you know?

When it comes to tape restores, 71% of them will fail. If you are still using one of these tapes to backup data, there is a chance that you could still lose everything.

I can’t thank BizTek enough for their backup services. We’ve kept a disaster recovery plan for several years and we just had a hard disk fail on us over a month ago. I was still panicking that I’d lost everything but BizTek helped me restore the back-ups right away. Aside from a few new files that were more recent, we got everything back. Thank you!

Advantages To A Remote Enterprise Backup Service
There are several advantages to utilizing a managed remote backup service, one of which is disaster recovery. We’ve all had files accidentally deleted or saved over files that we weren’t supposed to. There are also times when files might suddenly become damaged for no apparent reason.
One of the most frequent uses of our backup and recovery service is data availability. This means that our clients are protected if they delete a file by accident or are in need of the previous version of a file.
Clients will also frequently utilize backups to recover corrupted application configuration files. Whatever your recovery solution needs may be, our team can restore data as quickly as possible to get you back up and running again.
F.A.Q.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which is faster for creating backups - tape or disk?
When it comes to speed, the general consensus among IT technicians is that disk backup has the a bigger advantage over tape backup since disk systems tend to backup much quicker than tape. Disk backups can also be accessed much quicker than a tape.

How often should I test my disaster recovery strategy?
According to recent statistics, 50% of businesses test their disaster recovery strategy only once per year. This is far too seldom to test a recovery solution since businesses are constantly encountering change.
We recommend testing your recovery process at least 3 to 4 times annually to ensure that your business is not caught off guard in the event of a disaster.
Why should I pay for online backup when Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive are free?
Cloud storage, such as Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and other similar services are not the same as cloud backup. They are neither automated nor meant to restore large quantities of missing files. Google Drive can be compared to self-storage units, where you manually store small quantities of data.
Managed online backup solutions, on the other hand, automatically make an exact copy of your data so that if your data is somehow lost, you’ll have another copy ready. Obviously, managed backup is going to cost more, but the loss will be minimal compared to someone trying to manually create backups and risk forgetting information.
How often should I schedule backups?
It varies from business to business, but usually, a good backup schedule is weekly. You’ll want to back up your files more often if you’re generating and updating your files frequently. Daily or even hourly backups are acceptable, bandwidth pending.
BizTek also provides “continuous” backup solutions, which watch for freshly generated, modified, relocated, and deleted files on a continuous basis. When any change is discovered on the hard drive, it initiates a continuous backup process that happens immediately. Our continuous backups care of the hassle of scheduling in the background and provide a reliable recovery solution.
Does a disk backup hold more than a tape?
The development of disk storage technology has outpaced the capacity of tape backup as well. Disk systems may now store far more information on a single device than tape backup systems can. This not only provides storage advantages, but it also makes finding things much easier since data can be kept in one location.
Some Of The Technologies We Work With

Invest in the backup and recovery of your business.

In the business world, it’s always important to be prepared for anything. And when you’re in charge of a company with many employees, there is always the risk of a disaster. One way to prepare for these problems is by investing in backup solutions as well as a recovery plan. Backups will create copies of your data so it can be restored if something goes wrong with the original files or hardware. With a good recovery solution, your backups can be restored after an incident to get back what was lost or corrupted during the event.
Don’t let your business fall prey to the next disaster. Let us work with you to create an enterprise data backup strategy that will keep you going.
